Alice Nunn

October 27, 1927 – July 1, 1988

If you saw Pee Wee’s Big Adventure, this one will come right back to you. The very scary moment starred Alice Nunn as Large Marge, the truck driver. Alice was one of the great old character actresses that never got the attention she deserved. Remember her as the maid in Mommie Dearest? “I’m not mad at you Helga, I’m mad at this dirt.” Just for being in those two movies, the woman deserves an Oscar.

Alice herself has been in a billion movies and television shows. Most of them are listed here.  The only blemish on her career was that she was in that Lucille Ball travesty, Mame.  Ugh.

Alice lived in West Hollywood, not very far from the Whisky A Go-Go. Her apartment was in a modest little building, tucked away in the gay ghetto.

I know very little about the woman unfortunately, except for her cool roles. And her doorbell.

I can’t even find an obituary on her. Sad, really.

Alice died on July first, 1988 of a heart attack in her apartment.

Her body was taken to the Grandview Crematory for cremation, and she was shipped back to her native Florida for burial with her parents.

I put out a Find a Death plea a while back for help in the Jacksonville, Florida area, and lovely death hag Kelly Farris came through for us, with flying colors. She found Alice’s grave in Jacksonville. Thank you so much, Kelly. You’re a sweetheart.
