Brittany was living with her husband, Simon Monjack, in a home purchased from Britney Spears. Those walls must leak crazy. This is the Spears/Timberlake house, before the Spears went down The Road to The Bad Place.

There were concerns about supposed “unstable” and “erratic” behavior, and her relationship was under scrutiny – some doubting Monjack’s motivations or intentions.
Brittany had apparently been suffering from some sort of “flu,” taking meds for that condition.
According to reports, at 8 a.m. on Sunday, December 20, 2009 – Brittany was found unresponsive on the bathroom floor, by her mother. Mom and the husband took Brittany into the shower in an attempt to revive her. Meanwhile, some noodles, leftover Thai food, Gatorade, water and tea with lemon were being purged by Miss Murphy.

A 911 call was made, paramedics arrived, and she was in full cardiac arrest. They brought Brittany back onto the bathroom floor and continued to attempt resuscitation while transporting her to Cedars Sinai Medical Center.
She was pronounced dead at 10:04 a.m.
She was 32 years old.
Of course the rumors are flying. Drug abuse (apparently a plethora of prescription medicines were scattered about the living area), anorexia, etc. Mom supplied the information that Brittany had a history of diabetes.
An autopsy has been performed and foul play has been ruled out. We shall wait several weeks for the toxicology results. Until then, courtesy of TMZ, this is the temporary – inconclusive – death certificate. (thanks Paul Blum)

After her funeral, she was interred at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills. She is in good company.
Trivia: Brittany completed a film starring and directed by Sylvester Stallone called The Expendables, set for release in 2010. So we’ve got that to look forward to. But we will always have Clueless. “Rollin with the homies…”
Odd stuff: Death Hag message board member Cat Lady in Training pointed out that Brittany’s prom date way back when, was none other than tragic teen Jonathan Brandis. Coinkydink?

The drugs found in her system were therapeutic levels but she also had several over the counter cold meds in her system. Plus pnuemonia & anemia. Poor Girl had too many leaches (especially that husband) looking out for their own interests and not looking after Brittany. RIP Sweet Lady

I saw a video on YouTube – “Autopsy – last 24hrs” about Brittney Murphy. She was a hoarder. Any flat surface had something on it. Racks of Clothes filled basically every room. Kitchen was filthy and full of Mold as were the bathrooms. Windows an doors were taped shut, basically keeping all that wonderful mold and mildew alive and for Brittney and her husband to breathe in. Here’s the kicker, they taped the windows and such because she was afraid of “catching something.” That house was horrible looking. There really was no clear counter/living space and the trash overflowing in the kitchen ??? “Thing’s about Star’s no one Knows about” until they’re dead. Sad ending to such a beautiful young actress.

You saw that on a “tv show”. They show you what they wanna show you! We will only know what her house looks like from actual pictures. Yes, her husband did a walk through the house after she died and they were hoarders but if you look at the picture above, the bathroom looks pretty clean. I don’t think she got that way until she let her husband take over her life. She let him pick out her clothes … even the color of her hair (she actually said that on an interview). I think that he’s the one that took her down. That’s strange why she let him! Some say “Love is Blind”. Him to die from the same thing is even more strange! Maybe it’s the house?? How in the world did it get past inspection? Now we know why Timberlake and Soears sold it! Was it “moldy” then?

By all accounts, the house was mold free when Brittany bought it. The picture you claim shows that the bathroom was clean is from an episode of MTV Diary from 2003. So at least five years before she died. Shit started going south when Brittany married that con artist – and that’s exactly what he was. He fed Brittany’s insecurities and paranoia and controlled every aspect of her life. He duped the mom too who only came to realize what he was after he died. It’s not at all strange that Simon died in the same way. They were living in filth and drugged to the gills. Hell, Simon always looked dirty and slovenly.

According to an article published in NY Daily News on August 18, 2010 citing TMZ, Brittany’s mom and Simon got unusually close, by some standards, during the short time between Brittany’s passing and his.
Surprised no-one has updated this posting. Apparently Ms. Murphy died of pneumonia with secondary factors of anemia (iron-deficiency) and multiple drug intoxication. In a bizarre factor times ten is her widower, Simon Monjack, died of the same primary two causes of death, in the same house! Namely, acute pneumonia and severe anemia. How strange is that?
